  • Total Synthesis of Complex Natural Products

    • Developed an efficient Pd-catalysis to synthesize quaternay carbons

    • Completed a formal synthesis of diazonamide A

  • Synthesis and Characterization of Conjugated Polyelectrolytes

    • Discovered narrow band gap, anionic conjugated polyelectrolytes could be doped during dialysis in water, a common purification process

    • Investigated structure-property relationship

    • Conducted eletrical measrements (elctrical conductivit, Seebeck coefficients)

  • Interfacial Materials for Organic and Perovskite Solar Cells

    • Developed water-soluble, pH neutral, conducting polymers for interfacial materials

    • Generated solar cells with better stability and high power conversion efficiency (11.3%)

    • Conducted morphology studies using TEM, SEM, AFM, etc.

  • Flexible Thermoelectrics using Solution-processable Polymer/Carbon Nanotube Composites

    • Developed stable polymer/carbon nanotube dispersions

    • Discovered selectivce doping (p vs n) of carbon nanotubes by conjugated polyelectrolytes

    • Fabricated flexble thermoelectric modules
